VST instruments won't show

Post by pickerin1 » Wed Oct 31, 2007 12:57 pm

I've downloaded a few free VST synths to try out in Live 5.2 - I've installed them by copying the .dll file to my custom plug-in folder and restarted live. They still aren't showing up in my plug-in devices folder. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Have you tried to rescan your vst folder?

If you are on a mac, then you have to worry about whether these free plugins are universal binaries or not, right? That might be an issue.

On PCs or Macs, MONO-plugins will not show up in Live. Only stereo plugins. So if a few free plugins aren't working, but others are, it could be these nutters will never work, and you got what you paid for.

Any specifics?

I've heard that trashing your Ableton config file fixes problems like that.
