vst plug ins VS ableton instruments

When I initially run a couple of native instruments products through ableton as plug ins I get this freeze thing going on and general sluggishness. I have a modern computer running 1GB RAM and plenty hard disk space. It has been suggested to me that the reason for this sluggishness is because of the lack of harmony between different companies products. Do people think that opinion is true and do you think that replacing these native instruments for ableton instruments would make the platform run better (less freeze and sluggishness)?

i guess it depends on what kind of plug ins you are running. i do not seem to have any problems unless i have a few monster reaktor ensembles. usually slugishness is related to processor speed and ram

Running Battery 3 and Absynth 4. I had to actually restart my computer for the VST's to register within Ableton.

Are you on a PC? ...cause if you're on a Mac use AU instead of VST, they are more stable and Mac friendly...

Yep. Any NI plugin should be run as a standalone right after the install, and the machine should be rebooted after that.

Otherwise, the plugin in a lot of cases won't initialize correctly.

I had some problems until I went from 1GB to 2GB of ram on my imac. My sessions run a lot smoother now
