UPDATED !! Faderfox LV1 Toggle Switches PLEASE HELP!!!

Post by flipvert » Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:25 am

Hi,
I want to press any of the coloured buttons on the bottom of my faderfox LV1 to toggle on/off of a plugin.

For example. I used to be able to press a button and it would turn on/off at each press the Beat Repeat (on/off switch) in the top left of the plugin.

For some reason now it doesn't do that. when I press it, it just spazzes out flickering randomly between off/on...

Please help me... I need this to work... I know it used to...
thx in advance...

:)

This setting is a Live function, not in the faderfox.

When you midi learn the plugin on/off button there's a little drop down list below the plugin box while the midi learn command is active. There's like 4 or so settings in there which will change how Live reacts to the midi signal. Experiment selecting each one until you have the right one. Or just check that it's setting matches the same as one of the other buttons that do work.

This is in version 6...?

I remember it being something to do with the ABSOLUTE option or one of the others that popped up in the bottom left of thescreen...

but in 6, they don't seem to be there, only the boxes with values on the left hand side...

I'll have another look today... cheers

Yes, that's the setting.

But I don't have Live 6. I'm still on 5, so I don't know about whether the menu is still there.

I hope so! 8O

Ola... checked ... and it aint there...

Now one thing I did notice is that all my knobs and sliders on my faderfox when midi mapped are showing up on the variables pane on the left as MIDI CC values... which is great...

However... all the buttons when assigned from my faderfox on the variables pane show up as NOTES not MIDI CC... bummer...

Any help guys please...!!!...!!! ta!

Yeah they show up as notes but if you launch a VST you'll notice it doesn't trigger any notes on the VST so it's fine. I think somehow it uses the note names as CC values (without velocity on/off info, etc). However they programmed it, it's quite clever.

Regarding the drop down menus, they've got to be there, or moved somewhere else in 6. Otherwise we would have seen an outrage from faderfox users since Live 6 was released! The faderfox won't work properly without options to select the controller type. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

How about when you load the pre midi mapped .als files from the faderfox CD. Do your buttons work properly then?

Ill find the cd... check it out and get back to you, but personally I think you were right first time, it has to do with those absolute values and they aren't there on 7 in the pane bottom left...
