I remember a time long ago; I was using Logic and it had this ability to capture your midi performance even if you didn't hit the record button. Some keystroke after the fact and suddenly you had that performance that had you not the ability to recover, should have been recorded in the first place. Live needs this. Especially considering its reputation as the tool for inspiration and spontanaiety. I hope the Abes consider implementing something like that for use on individual tracks. Mostly so that if you are practicing a "dry run" and suddenly pull out a perfect sequence, you will have a means to capture that take. I know the obvious solution is to just record everything at all times, but even with that, there is something to be said for performing without the knowledge of having your actions recorded.
Cheers...

My Wish...Logic-like post capture
That would be awesome. Recording all the time, especially when we're talking an hour or more, leaves you with an extremely large sessions to have to dig through for gems. If you could simply tap a button on your controller to say "hey, I just did something awesome here", that'd make jamming/doodling flow really well.
With live recordings, I have a cheat I do with Adobe Audition. I record my entire session, and any time I liked how something turned out, I can push the cue button on my Red Rover to place a marker in my recording. Now sure, the intended use is to mark the start of each take, but I use it after the fact. I'm only so good at predicting the future.
