Greetings LIVE Family!
I read in a a forum that overloading plug-ins especially in Live is not good. I have this free filter plug-in called North pole filter and I'm using this brazilian loop to go thru it. But basically 98% of the entire loopo is going thru it(I just have a small low shelf eq on it.Also it is not warped because I want the loop to come out as pristine as possible. The only problem is as the loop goes thru this plug, it comes out 4db hotter in the peaks with no resonance added and the freq flat (or at 99 basically). This Norhtpole causes the loop to overload my eq plug-in after that. What do you guys suggest I do to get the best sound quality? Should I add a gain utility before the northpole and bring it down 4db or should i let it go thru the northpole, put the utility gain after it and then lower it 4db.
Also I'm using Ableton 5 with OS 10.4.9---Should i expect a beeter sounding render to disk if i upgrade to version 6? This is one of the hardest things I ever worked on. Basically its a mashup but the main loop i have going thru it is so loud and in your face that with my vocal, strings, pad, bassline, and pumping guitar--I am really slamming the master fader. Right now I managed to control everything so that my highest peak on my master fader (while its at unity gain--"0") is -1.50 but like I said before, this has been the hardest engineering challenge I 've ever experienced.
WHoever takes the time to read this--Thank u very much. Anyone's input is appreciated!
