I"m using an mbox2 mini
Xp professional sp2
I loaded Live Lite 5.2 and the ASIO drivers for the mbox. (Pro Tools LE is already loaded. Started using Live Lite due to "interrupt problems")
I can input from the mbox.
Here is my problem:
When I record audio through mbox input 1, it only records mono in the left channel
When I record audio through the mbox input 2, it only records mono in the right channel.
I've tried different input configurations, but to no avail.
How do I get a stereo input?
If this is not possible, can I at least copy the track and move it to the right channel?
mbox and mono input
It sounds like you have everything set up OK except for the fact you are sending the mbox a mono signal. You need two audio cables to get a stereo sound.
So, if you connect two mono cables into the Mbox, and select "main input 1+2" (which I think you are doing already) inside Live, then you should be fine.
If you only have a mono signal-- a mic, or a guitar, perhaps.... then in Live, select "Main input 1" or "Main input 2" on the track you are recording to... you may have to hit the little i/o button on the lower right-hand-most side of Ableton Live to see this option on your tracks... and you may have to go into Prefernces/Audio to enable mono inputs.
But if you record a mono source to a mono track in Live, Live will automatically duplicate that audio to both the L and R channel (uh, well, it wont look like it, but downstream plugins will be getting dual-channel sound.).

Laird,
Thanks for responding. I am recording and instrument.
I removed the mono preferences thinking it would record stereo from one input (duh). All I did was put back the mono input on the preferences page and now when I select 1 or 2 for input the meter shows both L and R.
Time to get back recording.
