Hey all. I have a bunch of stuff for sale too, and figured I would post it here. Again, sorry for the OT post, feel free to ignore. There’s gonna be WAAAY more of my stuff for sale in the next few weeks, but I read somewhere that it’s not smart for an ebay seller to list too much similar stuff at once – you kind of create your own competition they say…

Anyways, help finance the upcoming Northeastern US / Canada Live tour by buying my used stuff.

Damn, Breaks. Thats a lot of liquidation. You planning on trading up for one of those poineer DVD scratch platters? I caught Quannum last week and DJ Shadow was KILLING with one.

If youo haven't seen what one can do, try to...
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

A DVD deck is intriguing, but not my prioroty. No more gear for me...

Why?

I kept every reciept I ever got for any gear or computer stuff I ever had. A documentary archive of every purchase for my studio was stuffed in a zip-lock bag. I also kept notes on each item I sold, traded in, etc.

I sat down recently, and totalled how much money I have spent on gear since the early 90s, and subtracted how much I got for stuff I sold / traded over the years. The result was shocking and depressing, considering I have NEVER been totally satisfied with my studio, despite the money I dumped into it. I have been mucking with Reason the last few months, and have made tracks I am very happy with, which once mixed in Cubase sound just as good as any of the external gear produced tracks of mine... I realized that I am a gear whore, an electronics addicted bitch. Well, it's time to let it all go.

And this ain't all of it... There was more that I sold a couple of months ago: About $6,000 US worth of sampler / synth / mixer / effects crap I dumped just before January!

I am going totally software. The only gear I will own will be a laptop, 2 midi controllers, and a pair of active monitors with sub. I might keep the two decks n' a mixer - but I still haven't decided, I might dump them too. I have more to sell, but I can only list so much on ebay at once, it's too hard to keep track of dozens of auctions at the same time...

Keep an eye on this forum in the next few weeks, I will post links on this tread to more stuff on ebay; or send me a PM if you are interested in any of the other stuff listed below:

Waldorf Micro Q
Electrix Filter Queen
Electrix EQ Killer
APS 48 point Patchbay
Behringer Autocom Pro
Pair of Numark TTX-1s
Pair of Shure M44G cartridges
Numark PPD-9000 mixer
Smartmedia cards for Roland MC-505 or JX-305
A&H Xone 02
Stanton Final Scratch for Mac (boxed, this is a legal transfer of lisence)
Evolution UC-33 (NOT the UC-33e)
MOTU 828 (the orignal one, not MK II)
NAD 25 watt studio amp
pair of Tannoy Proto J Monitors
Mac Powerbook G4 500 MHz with a gig of RAM, 60 GB HD
docking station for G4 Powerbook
Airport Base Station

Help me kick my gear addiction!

Mtlbks "Hello, my name is Monty, and I am a gear addict."

Analogs Anonymous: "Hi Monty"

Mtlbks: "I couldn't say no to gear, it started easily enough, with an Akai S-01 sampler to augment my decks back in 1991 or so. But I needed more gear. Soon I was hanging outside the local radio shack trying to get more quarter inch jack cables - My god, I am so ashamed, I have three milk crates full already, but I didn't ever seem to have enough, or the right one!!! I had 27 rack spaces filled, and if there was a blank space in a rack, I had to fill it with something expensive!

"It all started to come apart - I stopped being affectionate to my girlfriend. She felt I was spending too much time on my Andromeda (or my bestest friend Andy, as I liked to call him) and not enough time on her... She demanded to know if I would pay the same attention to her if she had more knobs n such... I said I would, but only if she made more screaming leads, got lusher pads and developed a Phatter bass. I know that was the beginning of the end... "
