"soft" quantize

Post by jersmi » Sat Dec 01, 2007 7:30 am

Request: the ability to quantize to a percentage of chosen value, so we can have a "hard" or "soft" choice. this could open up some interesting possibilities with relationships to randomness. :)

Hi,

There is a chooser for percentage in the Quantize dialogue. Isn't it what you're asking for?

sorry, Amaury, and thanks for the quick response. I forgot that the feature was there. So for composition this is good.

However, re: longjohn's question, is there a way to do this in real time? when i posted i was needing it to affect the record pass, wishing next loop cycle would have quantization. i am working with midi notes generated from audio (in Plogue Bidule), which can create lots of extra notes. I like the extra notes, just want to quantize them in meaningful ways in real time. Any help is appreciated.
