m-audio fast track pro + cueing

Post by neilmk5 » Sat Dec 01, 2007 3:39 pm

I bought this external card with the assumption that I'd be able to cue use both of its stereo channels. i'd read that it is was possible. Ableton recognises two sets of stereo outs (2 x stereo 1/2) in the output preferences but I can't figure out how to route master to 1/2 and cue to 3/4. Help!

Im using ableton 6 on OSX(intel macbook)

thanks

First make sure your FT pro is connected. Then in the prefs of live its the ASIO driver type and under that pick out m-audio usb asio. If this is all correct then it should be no problem to assign the outputs you want it the master section. I have my master going to 1/2 and cue to 3/4. Ofcourse, those outputs should be hooked up on your FT pro to your speakers or wherever.

Cue Out should obviously be set to whatever output youre using for your headphones. In my case it's 3/4. Change "solo" to "cue" (far right). Make sure the little headphone icon is selected on each track you want to hear.

The M-audio fast-track is pretty shitty, but i cant see how it wouldnt have two outs.

Ah I see. Well I don't ahve the ASIO driver showing so I presume its not installed. Just downloaded latest driver from m-audio but no asio
