How to change LIVE 7 Update order from download to boxed ?

Post by kamilof » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:37 pm

I recently bought the LIVE 7 update as a download and kind of regret it now... the boxed version includes the EIC v.2 !

I wonder if it is possible to change the order and instead get the boxed version? Thanks in advance!

Um, I think the answer to this would be a lot quicker with an email to sales or customer service....as much as I would like you to post your credit card information here.

Thanks for the advice. I've just send an email to customer support but I think they are being hammered with technical questions since LIVE 7 came out (er.. last friday). I guess I will just wait for their reply.......

Here's a funny thing: I got my boxed upgrade today with the EIC 2 DVD, but no serial. Now I'm wondering if that is right, but if I log on to my Ableton orders it tells me that there are no more upgrades available for me, so I can't check the spec of what I just bought!

I bought the box mostly for the printed manual, but I wish I knew whether this EIC2 DVD was supposed to be activated...

If my understanding is correct, the boxed version includes the EIC V2 but only because
when you buy L7 (not upgrade) EIC V2 is included. In order to avoid proliferation of different packages I think that Ableton has made it in the simplest way. 1 Boxed version for all, but no serial for the upgraders with no previous EIC.

Cheers Pasha. That's what I suspected, but good to confirm: I now have a nice EIC2 beermat, then.

You should have the EIC2 DVD. I think you can install it and use it as demo mode. Pls confirm.

Hi all,

We are aware this is a tricky one, let me try to explain:

- All Live 7 boxes come with the EIC 2 content (some GB of Live Packs)
- An EIC serial number is required to install the EIC 2 Live Packs. This serial number is not included in boxed Upgrades to Live 7
- EIC 1 and EIC 2 serial numbers are identical, so you can install and unlock the EIC 2 Live packs with an EIC 1 serial number

So, if you bought the EIC 1 with Live 6 and therefore own an EIC serial number already, you can install and use the EIC 2 content from your Live 7 boxed upgrade.

If you do not yet own an EIC serial number, you'd have to purchase the EIC 2 from our webshop before you can install the EIC 2 content from your Live 7 boxed upgrade.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

I was asking the same question. I emailed customer support and they've undone my download upgrade so I can access the upgrade options again.

Thanks
