Anyone with Session Drums: reviews here.....

Post by resonatorman » Fri Dec 07, 2007 2:16 am

Hi
I'm keen to hear if anyone has Session Drums yet? I get the impression some are starting to receive their boxed versions of the upgrades with instruments. I thought maybe those who get session drums if they could post reviews here? I'm interested in getting them, however I can't get a good enough feel for them from the short samples & vid on the Abe site.

Thanks in advance.......

Same here please. Drum sessions has me teetering on buying the boxed version over the download version. I just need to know a little more about it.

¥es I posted earlier. Very disappointing unless I'm missing something. Only two kits and about ten clips that will play in them. Also, I can't figure out how to adjust the mics. Not even CLOSE to Reason Drumkit. I bought this and drum machine, which I will never use.......what a waste of $$$$$

Hm. Are you sure there are only 2 kits? I don't have it, obviously, but I thought I read there were 10 stereo kits or something. Did you download any live packs for it maybe?

Hi bubbd202,

Sorry you're having problems with Session Drums.

The content comes as a collection of Live Packs on 2 DVDs. To be able to use all of it, you need to install all of the Live Packs.

There's a pdf on the DVD that contains more detailed installation instructions.

Hope this helps,

I installed my session drums Wednesday night, but haven't had much time to play around with them thanks to battling vista driver issues for the past two days. However, there are a boatload of sounds, and from what i have played with, I'm loving it.

And yes, there's more than two kits, I believe it was somewhere around 20 live packs to install.

Overheard by me the night of installing - "Holy $#!%, that's a lot of Toms"

I'm thinking that if he only has 2 kits then he has only installed EIC2

I think that EIC 2 comes with two kits off Session Drums

Session Drums is 28 gig of drum content, I don't think that is just two kits, no matter how many mics they used

Yes it turns out I did not recieve my session drum DVD. Ableton is correcting this, so disregard my earlier posts. Sound like it is what I am looking for, can't wait to recieve it.

Are these files all that big? With Reason Drum kits they have 16 and 24 bit version that you can choose from. I use the 16 but they still take a while to load. I am using a intel Imac with 2 gb, maybe I should look at the system requirements for session drums.
