Vista sound woes!

Post by AndyP » Wed Dec 12, 2007 8:29 pm

Just got my new laptop, running Vista*...

First problem was no input (line-in / mic in) being detected by Live on the built-in sound card. Installed ASIO4ALL, seemed to fix it...

Then I tried recording via the line-in, and got some weird feedback/delay as if the output was being re-routed back in through the input a few ms later (unless I turned the monitor on the track to "Off")

Anyway, found out how to mute the stereo mix as a recording input, so Live's output was no longer being "fed" back into the input.

Apart from... now I can't figure out how to get the line-in back up & running. Before I had levels on the meters in Live, now - nothing.

Anyone had to go through this bloody charade before? Any clues? Help!!! :(

*yes, I know everything would work fine on XP Pro but I'd like to persevere with it if possible to avoid having to "make the switch" again further down the line
