Ikea desk that was great for a studio?

Post by Verbal » Thu Dec 20, 2007 2:45 am

I know some people here have it. Ikea used to have a computer desk with shelves. You could also get optional shelves that attached to the poles and they were perfect for monitors.

I can't remember the name of this desk. I've been to Ikea's site and they have one sorta like it, but I can't find anything about the optional shelves. Anyone know?

Hells yeah, it's the Jerker. Best desk ever. I have stood on mine many a time to change lightbulbs, and never even felt it shake. You go, Jerker.

Do they still sell these "jerker" desks?...I was just browsing the Ikea website and didn't see any reference to them

Jerkers were discontinued. I got mine right at the end with a great discount on 4 external rotating shelves.

Jerkers, Us2400s, 'they' always discontinue the best. This should make us think, if 'they' haven't already dscontinued our brains..

nice, I actually saw this desk at a friend's house a wile ago and especially those side-platforms looked brilliant. I've wanted one of those desks ever since but I can't see anything like that on the Ikea site anymore.
The Fredrik desk is supposedly the successor, but that doesn't look like it has those platforms. :(

I guess Ikea are like Steinberg, always removing features in "updates".

Check Craig's list or ebay.
I bought a used Jerker from a guy who lives near me. It's in great shape and still strong...

I got my Jerker last year from a friend. Mint condition, $100.

I am constantly seeking a second shelf. I serch Ebay all of the time to no avail. I may just end up making one.

Best desk ever for the money.
