I think DP is to much work to learn. I used the free demo of Live and loved it. If I am using outboard gear, does anyone think that Live would be a good piece of software to use.

Live's Strenght is it's session view.
To be honest it isn't all that great at handling very large track counts IMHO.
That being said i have completed mixes within Live using 75 + tracks along with 10-15 returns. That was in Live 6......
Now with group tracks and automation lanes things are much easier.
If your Looking at lots of audio i'd go DP no question.
