Motu Ultralite not recognised by OS X

Post by philipc » Sat Dec 29, 2007 1:36 pm

So I just get my nice shiny new Motu Ultralite, install the drivers downloaded from the website, plug it in through firewire but the computer doesn't recognise it. It doesn't show up in any options, the Motu audio setup says its not connected...

Weird thing is that I was able to run the firmware update through the firewire connection so its not that the link isn't working at all, its just not working properly.

Any ideas? Am I doing something stupidly wrong?

Oh and p.s. i'm running Tiger on a 1st gen. Macbook.

There's perhaps a couple of things you may need to do:
1: Open up your Audio Midi Setup application, found in utilities. Drag the app to the dock for easier access. Go through the set up process and connect your Ultralite to your studio.
2: The Ultralite comes with a couple of applications. open them up and configure it with your system and and the AMS.

cheers

Thanks for your help. I hadn't checked audio/midi setup but I have now. problem is that there simply is no mention of the Ultralite at all. To confuse matters more I just added windows through bootcamp and it installed on that without a hitch. Most peculiar. I thought Motus and Macs went together like peas in a pod. I think i'll just uninstall the software and start again.
