Using more than one MIDI device VCI-100 and Axiom 49

Post by solosys » Wed Jan 02, 2008 8:00 pm

I just bought an Axiom 49 and have been using a Vestax VCI-100 for Djing with Live (since at one time I used Traktor). My problem is that some of the messages that the VCI sends out conflicts with the messages on the Axiom 49. I've tried to use different octaves but can't find a solution. For example when using the EQ knobs on the VCI the center position triggers one of the drum pads on the Axiom. I found this out the hard way when I was gigging and realized adjusting the EQ caused a kick to trigger. Is anyone using multiple MIDI controllers? Can I use Bome's to translate the conflicting messages into messages that do not conflict?

Does anyone use the Axiom 49 solely for DJing or in conjunction with another controller?

Have no direct experience with these controllers but you should be able to have them send on their own MIDI channels. I usually try to keep each of my controllers on it's own MIDI channel esp if I cannot edit what cc each control sends out.
