External Instrument problem

Post by Billdesman » Thu Jan 03, 2008 8:40 pm

First, the gear I'm working with

System: acBook 2.0 Ghz Dual Core with 2Gb of ram
Software: Ableton Live 7
Soundcard: Motu Ultralite
Midi Controller: Korg microKONTROL
Synth: Creamware Minimax asb

OK, now the problem. My microKONTROL is plugged in by USB to my mac. The 'midi out' is plugged in to the 'midi in' in the Minimax.
When I add a new External instrument to a midi track, I choose the microKONTROL, port 1, channel 1 at 'midi to', and 'audio from' the channels of where my signal comes in. This should be right......

BUT, when I play a note on my micorKONTROL (or draw one in Live) there is a delay of at least 1 second, and then the note goes on-off-on-off at a very high frequency. I get sound, but it's not right. Once I switch to another channel, the microKONTROL works as it should. Only on the channel of the Minimax it doesn't work.

Why does the midi note keep switching from on to off when I only hit a note once (when I release, it just keeps on going)

Please help me, I really want to get started with my Minimax!

Thank you!
