file management .wav

Post by Swan » Tue Jan 08, 2008 4:31 pm

Noob question please.
When I upgrade I install new app then move my songs into it then delete old app then spend several days finding my .wav files and fixing my work. It takes so much unproductive effort I am no longer inclined to upgrade. Is there a way to permanently embed .wav files to a song file? Should I overwrite the old app in place with the upgrade? I guess I need to know what files go where on my HD. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Swan

if You're working on L6 or L7 use the File Manager:

File> Manage Files or simply drag (with Your mouse ofkoz) the right border of Live apps' window and move it to the left You'll see either the File Manager or Live Lessons.

In the Manager while opened specific set, choose "Manage Set" or (if it is a project that contains more than one set) "Manage Project"

then go for the archive things.

Final step (the ultimate kung-fu technique): go for the "Create Live Pack" - do it for the finished projects/sets to get them archived.

Operator presets not showing

Post by Swan » Wed Jan 09, 2008 5:55 pm

Thank You Popoff,
That helped alot. Also I discovered you should protect your songs in a separate folder so you can delete the old app before you install the upgrade, otherwise you loose the metronome and your presets and library get wonkey.
I installed L7 with Operator and Operator doesn't see it's presets. I noticed in the video tut that he clicked on the right shell header and a popup with presets came up for selection. Mine are presumably in the library but not in any way linked to Operator or analog. Would you happen to know how to link them to their respective instruments? I think this happens when they are installed but something may have gone wrong.
Thanks for your reply,
Swan
