I had some PMs from somebody on AbletonLiveDJ.com forums who wanted to get a set at one of the nights I played at. I was very happy to listen to his mix and passed it on to a few promoters I know. I told him to come along to a night and I'd introduce him to some people etc.
He was pretty grateful and we exchanged phone numbers/e-mails and kept in touch via PM.
Now, he told me that he and 7 or 8 friends would be going along and asked if I'd reserve some tickets for him, as it's cheaper than paying on the door. When the day of the event came he was due to meet me before I went in, but he was running late drinking across London and I needed to get my ass in, so I said I'd leave them on the door under my name, for him to collect and we could sort out the cash later.
I did so, but since that day he hasn't replied to calls, texts or e-mail. This is a few months now, and still nothing.
What pisses me off is that I already paid for those tickets, so I'm down close to £100/$200, and the f**ker won't even get back to me. I know I shouldn't have been so trusting, but it's a sad day when you can't have some faith in humanity and try to do somebody a favour.
It's been three months since that night and he's disappeared from ALDJ, but I was told he is still busy here.
Other users at ALDJ have said he's offered to do paid warping for them and then just walked off with the tracks he's been sent, which I do believe is actually a criminal offence.
Here is the original topic on ALDJ:

Sorry for the rather morose nature of this thread, but I'm just wanting to ensure he doesn't get away with anything else.

What?
OK, if tickets cost you 12 quid or so, we must be talking about a pretty popular night.
There's a hell of a lot of people out there who would pay you that just for the chance to play at a decent event. And he screwed you for a night on the piss?
Did he pick up the tickets? And if you don't mind my asking what's the night you play at?
Don't lose faith in people though. I promise if I ever come crawling looking for a set, it won't cost you anything upfront. Maybe when the crowd starts walking out the door, but that's another matter entirely.
