waiting a quarter of a bar

call me pedantic, or maybe i'm just doing things wrong, but I like to have each bar in a song start on each bar grid.
this works until I break the song for a quarter of a bar then start it again, and all subsequent bars start off a quarter into the bar. then it doesn't snap correctly unless I zoom in to each part.

any ideas?

Are you using Live 7? If so, you can change the time signiture to add a 1/4 bar and change back to 4/4 (or whatever). Or make the last bar 5/4 to include a one beat break at the end, which is probably more correct technically.
