Analog Synth Wishlist

Post by Electronathan » Sat Jan 19, 2008 11:08 pm

While I love the new Analog synthesizer, it is lacking in some basic functions. I also have some suggestions for other unique add-ons too.

First off if we're going to sacrafice an oscillator for a noise generator it should have some cool, modulated parameters to tweak. In place of Octave, Semi and Detune It would be awesome if these knobs controlled parameters for noise like "spectrum" (brown noise to pink noise to white noise for example) and another for "Rate" (breaking up the noise signal aperiodically where 0% is silence and 100% is constant. Anything in between would practically be like grain density, so to speak ).
Then in place of the Pitch Envelope and Pitch Mod parameters would be controls for the spectrum and rate parameters. That is, the pitch envelope and LFO would control the spectrum while Pulse Width would control Rate.

Also Osc1/2 needs a triange wave.
And Osc1/2 needs clean(er) sine wave in addition to the currently "dirty" sine wave. Not to knock the quality of it, but there are definitely strong harmonic partials going on with that "sine" wave.

Next would be fully-modular control of all 4 envelopes and the 2 LFOs - for example: One should be able to modulate Osc 1's sync ratio via Filter 2's envelope. That'd be bonkers.

Finally Osc Sync Ratio needs to accept control signals.

Other than that I love it.
Thanks for reading.

Yep. They did a superb job on improving Operator. Some extra features in Analog would be great.

From the manual
For maximum analog nastiness, try mapping a modulation wheel or other MIDI
controller to the Sync ratio.
WTF?! I'd rather map an LFO or envelope to it. Or maybe velocity or mod wheel proper, from within the synth.

ANALOG NEEDS A MOD MATRIX!

+1

i would very much like to assign the mod wheel to more than just the vibrato, like pulse width, lfo rate, pitch envelope etc.

go on do it! yeah.

are the components or analog usable in max for live? if yes all your wishes are possible...

so is it possible to build your own synth in m4live using the "analog" components?

I would like to be able to route any signal and use it as a modulation source for all synths, samplers and effects. live mic/aux return etc.

SID Chip emulation quality like quadraSID from Refx.com

http://refx.com/?page=products/quadrasid/summary

but Refx rerally Fdup on the interface then wondered why it sold like crap

They should have rather made the interface like...... well that's a whole nother story
I have all the planes in a design genius Abe contact me LoL we will sell like hotcakes
Yeah that's my intellectual property. I dont want no one to pull a Timbaland on me ya know

Timbaland uses a Sid6581 on all his productions and is greatly inspired by chiptunes
100% to the point where he even stole a whole tune and put his own remix over it

The Proof

The controversy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timbaland_ ... ontroversy
Timbalands response

Timbaland (obviously)
Depeche Mode
Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails
Zombie Nation
and of course - 8 Bit Weapon
The list goes on and on so many users so many generas

Its the most underrated and yet the most used synth of all time fact.

Ya ya puremagnetik made a kak one Im talking 100% pure sid6581 chip not Nintendo junk.
