Live 6.0.10 crashes and doesn't start

Hi,
from time to time Live crashes and rests in memory. An annoying sound stays also. I'm not able to quit the process and it's not possible to start Live again.
So I have to restart my computer to get rid of the sound and to use Live again.

My second problem: Key inputs aren't sent to NI Plugins (I already read about that in other topics).

And the third one: When will Live be able to work with Tablets? (I have also read many topics about this). I wasn't able to use Pen2Live. Don't know what I've done wrong.

My configuration:
- Live 6.0.10
- Win XP Tablet PC Edition 2005
- Acer Travelmate C312

does your pc have 512 ram?

mate that is super tiny. and your saying live will crash your memory?

its 2008 4 gigs of ram is quickly becoming standard, and will very soon be bottom end.

trash the Live prefs as a starting point, it will regen next time u load it up.
u will lose ur settings but it might be that the live prefs are corrupted...

agreed 512 of ram is a bit light for a daw, 2gb would be safer... 4gb if u are really using lots of plugs!

Hi,
thanks for your replies.
Sry, I missed this. I've upgraded my ram to 2gb. So that shouldn't be the point. And I have no problems with other "big" applications like Photoshop or AfterEffects. No crashes there.
It's not necessary to have a complex project. Yesterday I had some crashes in a tiny project.
It's really annoying to restart the computer.

hmm, sorry I cant be of more help, maybe somebody else can take a stab at it.

could it be a plug in problem? sometimes when a plug in is causing crashes, live will have problems opening again.

what plugs r u using?

I'm using the whole stuff from NI (Komplete 4, now Komplete 5) and Musiclab RealGuitar & RealStrat.

A little help would be the possibility to quit the proces after Live has crashed. I tried different ways but nothing worked.

it is entirely possible one of the NI's is causing this. do you use all the Komplete plugs? Fm8, Kontakt, etc, etc... you have to try to narrow it down a little. Pro 53 is very simple, and probably does not cause any problems, but Reaktor, is extremely frikking complex, maybe you are using a synth, from the user library, that was not written well. so much can go wrong with such a huge bundle like Komplete. Plus, I hear Kontakt3 has many, many problems.

as for the Musiclab, hmmm, i know nothing about them.

I suggest turning all your plug ins off, via the live preferences, and then see if you can still get this crash. if you can not, then you must try to figure out what plug is causing the problem. I am not going to guess, but I will say, " try and figure out what is always in use, when this crash occurs. there is no way, every single plug in of yours in always in use when the crash occurs. Komplete is so big. and Musiclab is probably very complex as well. "

Hey,
Yes, I'm using all of the Komplete instruments. I remeber that I often used Kontakt when Live crashes. Maybe it depends on it but I'm not sure.
I experienced the same problems with Komplete 4. Because I can't reproduce it it's hard to nail the problem. But I will try my best.
