movies are out of sync

when i import a quicktime movie into live the sound is almost always out of sync.

can anyone suggest anything?

well how about providing more info for a start?

computer
video card
Quicktime version
video frame rate & codec

eg if say you were playing an NTSC video thru a PAL output monitor
the audio will be correct sync but the picture wont be...

i'm running a new imac and importing videos i made on the built in i-sight.

any help?
