Ableton Recording Question...

This is what I want to be able to do. Just not sure if ableton will do it.

Can you set ableton to record the sound output of your computer without using a wire connecting your computers output straight back into the input.

I'd like to bypass that method if I can so I dont lower the quality of the signal.

I'd drop the audio straight into ableton but I want to record sound from a few programs and DVDs without having to go through the process of extracting the audio.

Iam on Mac Mini with Ableton 6 if thats any help.

no it doesnt.

there is a small app called "Audio Hijack" which does this.
