I've had some ASIO issues today with Live 7.0.1, where the audio won't play and Live does some strange things for example it would take ages to create or load Live sets. - This problem didn't happen before but nothing else has changed on the computer.
What Does work fine:
- Setting Live 7.0.1 into MME/DirectX mode it works fine.
- Using Live 6.0.10 with any settings works fine (I can use ASIO at any in/out sample rate as well as also can use MME/DirectX without any problems)
- Using other ASIO programs such as Sound Forge 9, Sonar or Acid all work 100% fine.
When Live 7.0.1 is in ASIO mode - things that don't work or are strange:
- Creating or Loading Live sets takes absolutely ages (about 1-2 minutes to create where as in DirectX audio mode it takes around 1 to 2 seconds).
- Audio doesn't function at all. When I click play or try to play any samples or record any samples etc, Live just locks up.
- Closing Live doesn't reset or free up the ASIO or Audio Device (to reset I have to reboot or disconnect and reconnect the Fireface from the Firewire)
- Live is very un-responsive throughout use.
System Spec:
- Live 7.0.1 and Live 6.0.10
- Vista x64 sp0 with latest updates up to now
- RME Fireface 400 Audio Device with 2.8.2 Drivers (Native ASIO)
- 8GB RAM
- Gigabyte DS4 motherboard with Texas Instruments Firewire interface
- Core2Duo 3Ghz CPU
