Very slow controller response via USB

Finally ported Live on to my laptop rather than desktop. Was using Remote 25 audio and UC33 on desktop and controller was repose was OK - not lightening but usable (audio was going through PC soundcard).

I've now got audio running through the Remote 25, which is fairly OK but I'm getting dropouts etc. and.....controller response is just terrible. It's so slow there's no way I can use it live.

Laptop is a 3200+ Athlon 64 with 1gig ram in it - only using 8 tracks and only 4 running - proc registering about 10-12% and the drive isn't being thrashed. Is this just a USB bandwidth problem or is there something I can alter in Live?

I don't really have a solution for you, but the cpu load of 10-12 % seems staggeringly high - that laptop is a monster, it should only be a few percent.
