What is your workflow from live to logic?
how do i get the best results.
should i compose in Live, which i really prefer, and then recreate all settings in Logic 8
or should i render all to seperate audio tracks and mix in Logic .
Not trying to find out if logic is better.. just want to know which route is preferred, so i could give that a try.
rendering to audio is the easiest way i guess.. but does that make any sense.
thanks.

these days i find i'm spending most of my time in Live.. But thats mostly down to the fact that i can't seem to finish any thing.
I almost always start in Live.
I work with scenes getting the arrangement worked out using clips.
I'll set up sections or variations and label them in the master column.
I also love using the follow actions commands to add a random element to some aspects or parts.
Then i'll set up the section/variation parts mapped to keyboard and jam on it.
At this point i start removing clip stop buttons and maybe alter some of the follow action set ups to make them less random or record them into the arrange page and drag them back onto the session page as a single clip,,
Once i've built up an arrangement i'll record it into the arrange page.
At this point,, if i get this far,, i might continue on in Live until my CPU starts palpitating,, or i'll bounce out all the tracks keeping any plugs i can't replicate in logic or are integral to the sound design,, then import the whole mess into Logic 8.
Logic runs way way way leaner on my MBP than Live,, i also like a lot of the logic plugs and editing abilities that Live lacks,,,
Alternatively i might also start work in Logic and work up a bunch of random but related loops or parts,,
Bounce these to disk,,
Open Live and drag them into the session page and jam out some kind of mess,,
I also love using Live to mine old songs and sessions grabbing elements from all of them and building some thing new,,
Both the noizes on my ning page where made using this approach,,,

Hm, importing everything 'at once' seems difficult if not impossible. You could flatten and then save your midi files and re-open them again in Logic, using the same plug-ins. This is the most flexible way. Other than that you can export all tracks and re-import in Logic. Try exporting in at least 24 bit before importing into Logic.bartvd wrote:thanks
is there an easy way to import your whole song in Logic.
now i am importing my miditracks one by one.. can i import this at once?
Peter
If you export your MIDI as individual files you can open logic to a new session,,bartvd wrote:thanks

Open the finder and navigate to where you have the midi files,, Highlight them all and then drag them onto the arrange page in Logic, and logic will create midi tracks for them.
You can do the same thing with Audio files.
Thing is though,, there is no direct quick way of doing this. How ever you go about it your gonna have to jump through some hoops. Even using OMS and transferring sessions from one host to another that supports that protocol has its quirks,,
