Hi all. New to the forum and to making music on the computer. Loving it so far, although I have encountered a problem with the CPU meter going hi with blips in the music. Currently this will happen with only 3 or 4 midi tracks.
My set up is Live 6, MAC OSX 10.3.9, 1.8 GHZ power PC G5, 4GB DDR SDRAm(pc3200u-30330), CPU speed 1.8GHZ, Bus speed 600MHZ.
I have a Focusrite saffire hooked up with firewire. I have everything selected in preferences but its as though the saffire is not helping support the cpu (which I assume it is meant to). I can even disconnect the saffire and it seems there is no affect on the cpu scale. Am beginning to wander if my machine is powerful enough (nothing else running), but before i upgrade to mac os 10.4 or higher I would appreciate any advice. Or is anyone else running saffire which may be a problem.
