help with making my loops!

Post by djfeedme » Thu Feb 28, 2008 7:29 pm

I need some help. I am just starting to use live 6. I want to know if I can take a loop/sample from a song, and just save it in a folder for later use in productions. i want to be able to save multiple loops from the same song, and be able to save those loops with different effects on them.
Overall what I want to do is start folders with saved loops in them so that I can begin just listening to them and putting them together to see what sounds good together.
I haven't figured this out and it might be easy but I need help. I have only been able to save loops but I can't seem to get what I want.

so you can already save loops, is that correct?

Now all you need is to apply different effects and save that?

You could always add effect 1, and then Render the loop to disk.
Then replace effect 1 with effect 2, and Render again.

This'll create flattened .wav loops, which you can open up in live or any other DAW/Sampler later on. Did you want to save the loops&effects unflattened, as .als files? try navigating through Live's file browser and look at a song you have saved. Open that folder. keep going into sub-folders, you should see individual tracks and loops that you can drag into a new live set with ease!
