Turnin' on the Screw

Post by JDemonie » Wed Mar 05, 2008 1:44 am

Hello,

anyone know how to get the sound of the keyboard intro on Turnin on the Screw by Queens of the Stone Age?

I know its two seperate keyboards put together (or played twice and later put together)

I have some keyboard plugins. I believe mine is called lazysnake (don't know if that matters)

Anyone?

I happened to see Queens of the Stone Age perform some days ago. I noticed that there were a LOT of guitar effect pedals on the keyboard.

Anyway, the guy had two keyboards, one sounded a lot like a Big Muff distortion pedal, by Electro Harmonix. Can anyone help me find this sound?

Maybe not really the exact solution but...

Sounds like a moog + an amp + a good EQ.

So in VST I'd set a triangular wave or a triangular+square waves on my moog (or any synth) plugin, with amplitude release 0 and no envelope filter.

and the route it to an amp plugin like Guitar rig or Amplitube, tweak the amp eq and the gain...

I guess this doesn't enlighten a lot but hey...
