Text to Speech to Musical Vocals..

Post by sounds » Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:42 am

Hello,

Sometiems you get a club tune with a few spoken words,
I imagen this can be done easily enough with text to speech,
Which can sound cool depending on what type of voises you use, bots etc.
But i don't know how to use ableton to make synth voices sound more musical

Any tips please?

Did you try with a vocoder?

You place a vocoder vst on a track and you route a synth into it as Carrier and a voice as Modulator, that way you can have nice hybrid voices, kinda funky/galactic... :)

There is also this soft .. Vocaloid, from Yamaha, where you can "compose" singing voices. I don't know it well.

Hi sorry for the late reply,

No i'm not that technical with the software, i can mix and i can make
tunes if i spend a lot of time in it, i had a mess around with it and put
my entry into the herbie hancock contest which didnt win but the point
was i enjoyed making a tune so much in ableton i got to enter something
i never would have though of before, which is cool.
I also got a release on beatport and a few other portals which really just prooved something to me.
They told me i couldn't unless i was a professional lable or signed to one :)

I'll get stuck in again soon when i have some time to myself

Thanks
