post some music you made that wasn't "electronic"
decided to start my own thread for this instead of continuing to highjack someone elses
sorta some industrial new metal type stuff that I can't find the files for so I can't mix with them anymore. made them about 2 years ago with a buddy of mine. never did find a singer.
tons of guitar rig and cool edit 2.0. damn I wish that would have turned into a real band.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Here's where I come up as a retard!
Old band Foil, in 96 or so, I'm the guitar player on the right.
Steve the guy in the hardhat played drums in Tad, a proto-grunge band.

Not every band I've been in has been serious.
We had a song called Mellville, bass player thought it sounded like the Melvins, so we thought it would be funny to name it after Herman Melville who wrote Moby Dick.
The singer thought it was the name of a city! So he wrote lyrics to this heavy heavy heavy song like this (shouting in a tough guy voice)
"Let's go down to Melville for a summer DREAM!"
"The birds and bees were singing in the BRANCHES!"
We were dying in the studio when he was doing this with no music behind it!

Here's a little snip of an all guitar track I recorded around 1988-89, just me playing 3 or 4 parts:
Git-tar

Some random late night noodlin from a few years back - jazz/soul type thing (no idea what the hell possessed me...) - was still electronic production I guess. I was just pissing about and someone hit record then we mixed it up after.

Nothing to see here - move along!
Some ammunition for you. Last year, freestyle jamming with a drummer. Good player, but didn't speak five sentences in at least two hours jamming. We just put a mic into the room and hit record, but they electronic guy who recorded this only send me 64kbit MP3s, use a smiley EQ to make it listenable. That guitar-amp was part of the room we rented and I've never heard such a strange amp. When you try to get feedback out of this thing it doesn't go "eeeeeek" but "kkchhhrrrkkr".
1. Just trying the rocking skills of da drumma. Chakachaka...
jam_rock.mp3 - 2.96MB
2. Starting with a computer generated beat to see how good the drummerman can join in to a given beat. During the quiet part I desperately tried to communicate with the drummer, but he kept looking up to the ceiling, so after that I just digged the guitar loud and kept playing the four cord progression out of frustration.

This is what I do when not noodling 'in the box'
