what kind of cables do i need to DJ?

at a couple of recent gigs, i'm not able to cue properly.
i'm using a focusrite with my main outs coming from 1/2
and a headphone cue out of 3.

during my last gig when i pushed the headphone/ cue button
AND the ableton fader was down, the sound of the cue still came out loud and cleasr over the club PA!

so i mixed without cue'ing which,
well...sucked!!

is it a cable issue?
does it need to be a mono cable?
TRS?

Yer..a green mono cable should do the work for itself..

no honestly..check your routing first and if your cable isn`t damaged in any way it should work..
