GUI Refresh issues in Live 6 on XP: menus, VST screens

Post by jbrogers » Thu Mar 20, 2008 11:46 am

Hi, suddenly I'm having some screen redraw issues in Live 6. Menus are not drawing consistently, sometimes only drawing on mouseover, and VST screens are sometimes disappearing too.

Clearly a screen refresh/redraw problem. Not sure what I've installed that could have munged this.

Anybody have any clues?

Hi,

could it be, you have Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse drivers installed? These are known to cause all kinds of problems. If so: simply uninstall them in the Control Panel /Software. You´ll keep the basic functionality of your mouse nevertheless.

Dude! Yes, I am having this too and it's starting to drive me insane. It started after updating to Live 7. It remains after the update to 7.0.2.

I'll try uninstalling intellipoint, but that's unfortunate.

Yep, that was it. Funny, similar problems in Adobe After Effects were solved with this too.

If you need Intellipoint at other times and don't want to uninstall it, you can just go to Task Manager and kill the ipoint.exe task before you use Live and that works too.
