This is a "How to: Force ableton to send a midisnapshot over a midibutton, by using the Keycommandes STRG+M+M with a Midi to PC-Key translator. "
Ableton has deletat this topic yesterday, maybe, that nobody come in the possition to say "I want a snapshot function" whatever! I will try it again and again, to escape from this censorship.
Short in English:
Download this free translator http://www.bome.de/midi/translator/Midi ... c1.6.1.exe
and this from me createt Preset for the miditranslator
http://www.phatline.at/Im_web_bleiben_m ... reset.bmtp
then you will need midiyoke
http://www.midiox.com/zip/MidiYokeSetup.msi
and you will need ableton!
Ok first install midiyoke
Then restart XP
Then start the miditranslator and load my preset
Then set the midiinput in miditranslator, on your midiinputdevice you should setup a midibutton with CC77 Midichanal3, that will be you "SNAPSHOT SEND-BUTTON"
Thenn set the midioutput in miditranslator to MIDIYOKE 1
Activate in OPTIONS in miditranslator the "THRU" function
Now open Ableton
Activate in the midiopions menü the midiyoke1 input- the remote function
Make a new Miditrack and call it SNAPSHOT
Then go to the KEY-ASSIGNMENT, and assign the "N"-PC-Key to the Head of the miditrack (the field where the name "SNAPSHOT" is locatet)
Now setup the midiinput for the SNAPSHOT-track - to "no input"
Ready to some snapshot!
