Midi Mapping Q

Where is the best place to understand the midi mapping function. i have read the manual (stereo instructions) and checked the knowledge base, where did i go wrong????? now i have sounds coming from the midi controller and, the the live vst. the military calls this a cluster fu*k. Does anyone have an extra advil

You just need to plan your midi messages a little.

If you use a midi note to control a parameter in live via midi map but it also features as part of your melody that is being played by midi, then whenever you play that note, both things will happen.

Think about each peripheral sending on a seperate midi channel; for starters 1-16. Then avoid note numbers (if you use midi notes) that are likely to feature in your tracks to avoid duplication of function.
