I confess. I haven't really gotten into Drum Racks. I loved the concept, but many of my libraries for drums are through BFD 2, Reason 4 and Kontakt 3.
It seems that I have to load numerous instances of BFD (an instance into each Drum Racks slot). I don't seem to know how or be able to route BFD separate drums toward certain Drum Racks slots.
I hope I've made my question clear.
Is Drum Racks only for samples, or can you run other programs through multi-outs into Drum Racks?
BFD or Kontakt into Drum Racks--how do you do that?
I don't have time to post a full solution right now (it has come up in threads here before so search around) but the basic idea is to use the external instrument device. (NOT the external audio effect device.) Put Kontakt in one chain for its main output, and for each other output, put an external instrument device taking its input from that output in a different chain. Hope that helps.

Check out my presets for EZ drummer that use a single VST instance and lots of external instrument plugins to route all the pads:feyshay wrote:I confess. I haven't really gotten into Drum Racks. I loved the concept, but many of my libraries for drums are through BFD 2, Reason 4 and Kontakt 3.

You should be able to do exactly the same thing with BFD.
