I can't change the Sample Rate!! :<

I hope some one can help me.

For some reason a month or so ago I decided to change the Sample Rate in the Ableton preferences to 48000. I have no idea why I chose to do this :<

I now what to change it back to a more normal, reduced sample rate setting but the box in Audio preferences is now “grey’ed” out and it won’t let me change it.

I’m now stuck with a CPU that can’t handle the higher sample rate setting

I’ve tried re-installing 7.03 but it still won’t let me change the sample rate….if I load up an older version (7.01) then it does let me change it. Very strange

What am I doing wrong – why can’t I know reduce the sample rate in the newer version of Live?

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Rich,

that sounds strange. Please delete Live´s 'preferences.cfg' file in the preferences folder.

- click on 'get support' in Live´s Help menu
- Help view opens, click on the link 'show preferences folder'
- close Live, keep the preferences folder open
- delete the file 'preferences.cfg' in the preferences folder

Restart Live, is the problem fixed?
