Good books about making music?

Post by cutcopypaste » Mon Apr 07, 2008 4:58 pm

I'm not thinking Live specific... just books that are really useful for people who haven't really done a lot of music making, don't know too much theory (but do you need theory for electronic music, anyway?) and want to get into making electronic music in their bedroom?
this is for my brother's birthday.. he's already getting an m-audio axiom keyboard and has studio monitors and a mixer already from playing with his turntables. any good recommendations?

'The Dance Music Manual' by Rick Snoman is excellent.
