Post by agodzillab » Tue Apr 08, 2008 1:34 pm

hi :)
planning to use live7 ...live,
i'm buying my first laptop.

is vista family ok for live ?

Toshiba
Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2,1 GHz / 800 MHz
RAM 2 Go DDR2 up to 4 Go
HD 320 Go (2x160Go) SATA 5400 tours/min
GC ATI Radeon HD2600
Microsoft Windows Vista Family Premium
weight 2,72 Kg
screen 15,4"

Anything wrong ?

for an extra 350$ i can get an ASUS with cpu 2.5 / RAM 4Go / vista pro / but screen 14,1"

what you think about it.

it's way to expensive for me ! about 1800$ for a basic mackbookpro maybe it's cheaper in usa .. but in france, Image
EDIT ---
wow i said 1800$ but it's even more expensive ! for that price i get two computers ! Image
+ it's the same intelcore, same ram, same HD ...

Macbook.

Otherwise get XP, Vista has been a travesty and still suffers from hardware support issues.

XP is fine with dual core. I think XP pro can handle 2 separate processors, but either XP home or pro can do dual core.

You may still be able to get other laptops supplied with XP, but not for long. I found a good looking asus amongst others on www.laptopsdirect.co.uk in the UK, for example. Decided I was too poor at the moment though. Probably means I'll end up on vista.

you dont need a pro.
the only thing a pro gets you is a fancy video card, which does nothing for live.

get a macbook

1400$
runs vista better then that toshiba.
trust me.
