ultralite clock drift ?

i'm using a motu ultralite as part of my live set-up, both for audio (obviously) as well as to send midi clock to an mpc. i notice that the clock timing drifts quite noticeably after a few minutes of running the set (i'm using 7.0.3 on a macbook)...does anyone else have this problem ?

it doesn't happen if i send midi sync from my uc-33 or the midisport 2x4, which leads me to believe that the problem is with the ultralite rather than the mpc.

not a huge deal, but i was hoping to be able to just interface with the motu rather than have to drag along another midi interface.

btw; in the midi preferences dialog box, you can choose 'song' or 'pattern' under 'midi clock type'...what's the difference ?
there's no explanation in the manual, as far as i can see...
