NB Problem on STAGE - Any MacUser here having THIS problem ?

Hey Guys,

i am really going crazy by this since one year now and nobody can solve this f%cking problem. I am using a Dell Laptop with 2x UC33s Controller and a ECHO Audiofire2. At home or in studio everthing is fine, but out in a club 5of10 times the Controllers are suddenly not transmitting any signal to the host, DURING THE GIG !!! Sometimes live suddenly stopps and then there is NO AUDIOCARD FOUND ! It seems to be a powerproblem, that 1. affects the ext. powersupply of the ECHOcard and 2. makes a Problem to the USB hubs ! Its definitely NO vibration-or temperaturprob !!!!!!!!!

So guys, is there anyone an a MAC having this problem on stage/in a club ??

I am thinking about buying a MBP 17" with Firewire800 that makes the ext. echopower useless. I also hope that a mac is more high-graded and do not affect USB-Hubs during a short powerunstability in a clubsurrounding...

go for it! Macbook is stable and fun! Never had problems live!

hi,

never had any problem with my macbook 2 2ghz, firewire motu card + midi controls... (I even sometimes forget to plug the power chord... but there's enough battery to last 1h30-2h00 non stop live...)

but... that does not mean pc are crap.

I have never had probs with my toshiba laptop CD1 1ghz neither... (but I had to plug the power chord with a custom plug with no "earth plug" so as not to hear some jjjjjzzzzzz in the sono, and the battery life was so short...)

but if you ask me, let you enjoy the macbook simplicity, power and ease of use, you won't be disappointed.

i bought a mbp 2,16 (late2006) recommended by ableton.
Awaiting the unit next week...im curious about it

you won't notice any huge difference, nothing special, no ultra FX, but... with time passing you get some kind of feeling that even an earthquake could not crash it... and that feeling you need to be good in a live gig. (be sure you have a second string set for your guitar... or get a mac
