Fading between scenes

Post by 0verfl0w » Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:35 am

Hi!

I am using Ableton Live on stage with my band.
We have a song with a long looping intro.
It depends on the audience how long we play this intro.
After some time we want to start the song, but with a fade between the intro loop and the starting song backing tracks.

The Intro and the song Backing Tracks are on different scenes in the session view.

Is there any way to do this?

Thx in advance

the easiest way is to put the loop into completely separated channel and route its fader to one f-channel and the rest of the song to the other one, then You just change the xfader's position and voila.

(xfader - alt-ctrl-f or alt-cmd-f)

also if you copy the intro loop clip into the slot below (the first scene of the song)

set those clips to legato, and draw an unlinked volume envelope on the "fade out" clip..

and volume envelopes on the incoming backing tracks, if you want them to fade in
