There is not enough memory available.

Post by Airbase » Mon Apr 21, 2008 7:43 pm

I have a project, fairly simple one, not using more than 16% of my Quad core. And from the 4 Gb of RAM I have installed from which XP only acknoledges 3,6, the total memory usage of all softwares (including Live) is about 2 Gb and I have a reading of 1657 MB of free physical memory. Still I get the topic title as a popup when I load this project. I can hit play and hear the whole project, but as soon as I click the arrangement or anywhere within live, this popup comes back (music is still playing just fine though.

I've also noticed using Colossus that it warns me about memory getting low when loading samples long before I even reach the end of my memory resources.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm running Live 7.0.1 on a Q6600 with 4Gb of DDR2 PC6400 on Win XP SP2.

i guess the first thing to do would be to update to live 7.0.3 and see if that helps, wouldn't it?

Did so now, same problem. It seems to me that the Melodyne plugin and/or Melodynebridge is causing some of the problems...

The >3GB switch only works for XP Pro. XP Home will recognize the additional RAM, but won't be able to use it. And, with that in mind, the maximum RAM allowed by all apps excluding Windows is 2 GB; 1 GB will be reserved for Windows.

Important to me, as I have a Pro and ahve been running out of memory with Live projects recently. Thinking of switching from 2GB to 4GB.
