Hello
I'm pretty new to ableton as far as vst's and midi goes so i hope you don't mind me asking this:
I would like to know how i can set up a midi instrument (random vst) so that when i play a note it retriggers itself every x amount of time (pretty fast). Kind of like an arpeggio effect without going up or down in tone.
I've heard the band 65daysofstatic use this effect on piano's, and it isn't very uncommon on synth sounds either.
I just don't know how to do it in live, and i don't know what it's called so it's hard to look it up online...
Thanks!

Use the arpeggiator to just repeat notes - no 0 octives and 0 tones (or whatever the call it).

Or, just trigger multiple 16ths, add a few delays with rhytmic automation and remove a few notes, that's what the band in question does. Experiment with a few random notes at 3-4 octaves higher, eq cut the low and you'll get that sweet brilliance.
