Post by benmiron » Thu May 01, 2008 6:21 pm

Is there a place where you can read up on what the automap points to from the BCR?

Guess and check is tough with so many knobs goin on.

I am not quite sure that I know what it is that you wanna know.
Do you want to understand how the BCR can automatically map a controller command to a rotary or a button? Or do you just wanna know how to see/edit a button or rotary knob on it? Or how to make Live connect a given controller to a function?
Reading the manuals should help, in all scenarios mentioned. Seriously.
But what's the use in that
When you lie?

the BCR has an automatic mapping I want to know how to use it without having to guess and check.

Where can I look up what the automatic mapping is for live.

i figured out the basics but there is more mapping then i understand.

Is there like a key for the automap

+1

I use BCR2k sufficiantly without needing to know too much about midi CC; using the learn on the BCR & Midi Map on Live and I'm very happy with it.....

However....

What controlls does Live automap to?

Seems a bit lame that Live automaps to the BCR and keeps the details to itself?

Is this a secret or is there an option or page I'm missing?

Would be nice to know, eg; I have the MCU Emulation which would be impossible to use without knowing what the buttons/knobs do.

Sounds like this question is a bit of an Ableton-whack.

No-one have an answer? 8O

so you program MCE to a preset bank .... does that mean you can switch to another preset and use the automap or a custom maping?

it doesnt change anything right? just adds a mapping?

I havent gotten it to work yet but I am looking into it.

Anyone have alink to a good guide for MCE. I looked around and found a few spots but is there an end all be all good site for MCE info?

I was just wondering the same thing.

I searched the manual pdf and on page 365 it mentions that the mappings are listed in the lessons part. It is in the 'midi controller' lesson.

Ableton did a great job of setting this up as a lesson... too bad i didn't realize it was there!

help>all lessons>control surface reference>detailed list

this shows all automapping for effects, instruments etc. it applies to the top encoder groups.
