the novation remote automapping thread

I recently read an interview with an artist - one of those page spreads showing all of his gear - and when it got around to the novation remote, his main comment was, "I haven't quite wrapped my head around the automapping"

Kindof stunning to hear that straight from an artist with a studio full of awesome gear .. but I could kindof relate, so thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post a thread for anyone who has had to troubleshoot automapping to post their solutions.

Any tips on how to "simplify" "automapping" would be greatly appreciated
