MOTU 828 mkII not recognized in Live 7

Post by Johnatron » Tue May 27, 2008 2:39 am

Live 7.0.2
.Dell Lattitude D820 with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
MOTU 828 MKII

Hi! I used to be able to use my MOTU 828 mkII with no problem
through live. The other day the audio just shut off the MOTU wasn't
recognized by live anymore. I reinstalled the drivers and reset the
MOTU device. It works perfectly through everything on my computer
except live. Live says "No MOTU Audio device could be found. Make
sure your MOTU Audio device is connected, powered on, and that the
drivers are installed." However, this is not true and it works
perfectly with everything else.

UPDATE: I have live 7.0.7 and it still doesn't work.

UPDATE 2: Sending out midi messages from live to the 828 works but it says that the audio device is not being recognized.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I think the first thing to check is the sound drivers... WDM, ASIO etc.

Hi Johnatron,

did you already try to reset the hardware module? Try restting it to factory defaults, before doing so, try simply to switch the sync from internal to external and back again.

Hey guys! I deleted the cfg file for lives preferences (as instructed by Live) and it worked for a while. Now, it sometimes works with the computer, not always, and doesn't work with live again. Same error message. AND, twice when i went into live to change the audio driver to ASIO and the MOTU 828 MKII I got the BSOD!! Ahh! I have no idea what to do. I uninstalled all of the drivers and got them back blah blah blah.

The thing is it is obviously not just a live problem. Now on to talk to motu :(
