anyone care to share their experience with the Orchestral Strings instruments?
(cpu/memory performance, playability, sound/patch quality)

In my opinion , the quality of the sounds is mediocre. If you want
high quality orchestral sounds check out East West Symphonic orchestra
platinum edition.
