BFD2 vs Battery & Session Drums

Post by jbone1313 » Sat Jun 21, 2008 9:02 pm

If you own Battery and Session Drums, is BFD2 a worthwhile purchase?

Does it offer any significant workflow enhancements and/or samples that you don't get or aren't redundant with Battery or Session Drums?

Personally, I really like Battery 3 - it just works. No mess, no fuss.

No seen much from BFD2; was ist das? Is it like the DFH software? I know that Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) did some drum sounds for that, and they are tasty-nice.

Do either of these products provide you with drums that sound like a real live miced drum kit? (Battery doesn't compare on this level...haven't used session drums) If not and thats what you want, BFD is great. There are very few kit choices which sux if you expect lots of kits, would recommend an expansion for BFD for more kit choices.

BFD2 has very realistic sounding drum kits. 55 gigs of them. It also includes a very nice mixing and effects sections and a drum sequencer with a bunch of preset patterns. Another great option is Tonntracks Superior drummer.
